Primary Objectives
- To educate and motivate the community on key social issues, e.g. health and nutrition issues, HIV/AIDS awareness, drug abuse, and cessation of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) practices;
- To support needy and underserved Somali communities in targeted areas;
- To raise community awareness on participatory sustainable peace and development approaches and respect for human rights;
- To document, investigate, and monitor human right abuses that occur in the target geographical areas;
- To train and upgrade the knowledge of the community to solve and manage their own internal conflicts in order to avoid the potential escalation human rights violation/abuses;
- To encourage the renaissance of productive sectors in Agriculture and Livelihood, WASH, Education, Protection/NFI Shelter and Income Generation projects in south/central Somalia;
- To empower marginalized communities through sustainable utilization of locally available natural resources;
- To advocate and lobby for good governance and environmental conservation in Somalia;
- To advocate for increased application of appropriate technology to improve the life of pastoral communities, agro-pastoral, riverine and urban destitute communities;
- To assist communities to respond to emergencies, and recover from such emergencies using various mitigation techniques.
